Job summary

The City of Hialeah is seeking an Assistant Park Manager to lead all types of public recreational programming and supervise both full-time and part-time staff. In the Park Manager's absence, you will assume responsibility for programming, staffing, and facility control.

You will assist in planning and coordinating activities for diverse groups and ages, organize various programs, coach athletic activities, and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• US citizen or legal resident of the United States.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Bilingual; able to speak English and Spanish fluently.
• HS Diploma or GED and 1 year of paid recreation experience in public sector or school setting; OR a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or related field.
• Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a recreational facility under general supervision of the Park Manager.
• Plan, coordinate, and schedule recreational activities for all age groups and interests.
• Organize and direct a wide variety of recreational activities and programs.
• Coach and officiate athletic games and crafts activities as needed.
• Prepare schedules and work assignments for employees and assist in park inspections for safety.
• Maintain records and prepare reports; handle inquiries and provide information to the public.
• Enforce park rules and administer first aid as required.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning duties at the park when needed.
