Job summary

The Town of Southern Pines Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a proactive Recreation Specialist to support daily administrative operations, program delivery, and marketing efforts. Under supervision, you will assist in all sections within the department, wearing multiple hats to ensure seamless service and a strong public presence in Southern Pines.

Qualifications

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in a field that will support the job description and responsibilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer proficiency Excel, Word and Outlook is required.
Social media and design software proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as the front-line liaison for visitors; facilitate park rentals; answer phones and emails; process payments and prepare routine reports.
Design flyers, signage and media using Canva; lead bi-annual program guide layout and copy.
Manage social media channels, schedule posts, engage with patrons on Facebook and Instagram.
Assist in planning, promotion and execution of departmental programs and events; handle registrations and facility reservations.
Prepare and distribute facility reports, attendance and revenue data; support cross-department coordination.
