Job summary

The Town of Apple Valley is seeking a Recreation Programs Supervisor to plan, direct, and oversee multiple recreation programs and facilities. The role involves supervising staff, coordinating services, and delivering high-quality programs to the community.

Ideal candidates will have a four-year degree in recreation or related fields and at least three years of experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Municipal experience, aquatics, and youth engagement are highly desired.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in recreation, human services, physical education, or a related field and three (3) years of recreation experience with a minimum of one (1) year in a supervisory role.
• Experience in a municipal setting, aquatics, and working with children is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, administer, organize, coordinate, and oversee several recreation programs.
• Supervise recreation and sports facilities, including athletic fields, pool, tennis courts, recreation centers, and parks on a seasonal or year-round basis.
• Provide highly complex professional assistance to the Director of Parks and Recreation or Administrator.
• Foster cooperative working relationships with public and private groups.
• Perform related work as required.
