Job summary

City of Boulder is seeking a Recreation Program Specialist to oversee and coordinate a range of recreation programs and events for the community. This role leads seasonal staff, develops partnerships, and ensures safety and alignment with departmental plans.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation or related field, 5 years of experience in recreation programming, and current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation or related field. Eight (8) years of related experience may substitute for the education requirement only.
• Five (5) years of experience in recreation programming.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Must hold and maintain a valid drivers' license.

Responsibilities

• Creates, implements, and coordinates a variety of Recreation programs, services and/or special events.
• Organizes and submits recreation guide and website information and marketing materials.
• Works with marketing/communications to keep materials and sites updated.
• Fosters relationships with community partners to grow programs.
• Reviews programs to align with the Master Plan and best practices.
• Hires, trains, schedules, supervises staff and volunteers and conducts trainings.
