Job summary

The City of Prescott's Recreation Services Department is seeking a motivated Recreation Coordinator to plan, coordinate and oversee a variety of programs, classes and events for youth, adults, seniors and families. The role focuses on delivering inclusive opportunities and high‑quality experiences by collaborating with staff and partners to engage residents and enhance quality of life.

The ideal candidate will be organized, creative, and able to manage multiple programs while ensuring safety,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Two years of experience coordinating programs, camps, classes or events preferred.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Create, plan, and oversee camps, community events, programs and classes for youth, adults, seniors and families.
• Coordinate event logistics including facilities, equipment, permits, vendors, and setup/teardown.
• Provide on-site supervision during events to ensure safety and smooth execution.
• Recruit and coordinate instructors, volunteers, vendors, and staff as needed.
• Assist with program registration, attendance tracking, and basic reporting.
• Promote programs and events through flyers, social media, and newsletters.
