Job summary

City of Fort Wayne – Parks & Recreation is seeking a Program Facility Coordinator for McMillen Park in Fort Wayne. The role pays $23.1751 per hour and requires a 40-hour workweek with some weekends and holidays.

You will plan day-to-day youth and adult programs, coordinate grant-sponsored initiatives, and help supervise staff and volunteers. The position emphasizes program development, class scheduling, reporting, and facility setup.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of successful experience teaching/leading youth with progressive responsibility in a recreational or educational setting.
• Specialized skills of recreation, education, or youth works as it relates to planning and organizing youth programs and activities.
• Basic knowledge of standard principles, methods and practices of recreation program/activity planning and implementation.

Responsibilities

Required Certifications:

• Valid Indiana Driver's License
• First Aid and CPR Certification
• ServSafe Certification

Physical Demands:

• Regular talking and hearing, frequent sitting and hand use
• Occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs
• Close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

• Frequent exposure to outside weather
• Noise level usually loud
