Job summary

The City of Ponca City is seeking a Recreation Superintendent to direct, manage, supervise and coordinate the programs and activities of the Recreation Division within the Parks and Recreation Department.

This role requires coordinating with other City departments and outside agencies, directing staff, developing goals and budgets, and promoting community programs across Parks & Rec, RecPlex, Senior Center and pools.

Qualifications

• Experience directing municipal recreation programs and facilities.
• Ability to develop budgets and manage staff.
• Strong knowledge of recreation programming and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate Recreation Division operations including the Parks & Rec, RecPlex, Senior Center, programs and facilities.
• Schedule, promote and publicize adult and youth recreation sports programs and community programs.
• Plan, direct, coordinate and review the work plan for the Recreation Division; assign activities and review results.
• Oversee staff training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary procedures as appropriate.
• Develop and administer division budgets; forecast funds and monitor expenditures.
