Job summary

City of Decatur, Ebster Recreation Center, seeks a part-time Recreation Specialist to assist and implement a wide range of recreational activities for all ages. You will supervise programs, coordinate instructors, recruit participants, answer inquiries, and help manage registration, facilities, and events with strong guest relations.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of basic office procedures and computer skills.
• Must have clear written and spoken communication.
• Prior clerical or secretarial work or office management experience preferred.
• Ability to work with computers and office software daily.
• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develops, promotes, and organizes programming for all ages.
• Recruits community members to participate in new and ongoing programs.
• Responds to inquiries and refers to the appropriate person.
• Assists customers by answering questions and providing support.
• Liaises with instructors, participants, and rentals for center programs and activities.
• Provides supervision for facility and appearance, including light janitorial duties.
• Manages sign-ins, receipts, rosters, and fee processing.
• Maintains records and updates patron information in CommunityPass.
