Job summary

The Eureka Parks and Recreation Department in Eureka, Missouri is seeking a Recreation Assistant – Programs & Athletics to help plan, coordinate and run youth and community programs, leagues and camps.

You will supervise part-time staff, assist with facility use and registrations, ensure safety, and provide excellent customer service while working evenings, weekends or holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in Parks and Recreation, Sports Management or closely related field, or two years of experience performing comparable duties.
• Experience in customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with planning, organizing, scheduling and implementing City recreation programs, athletic leagues, camps, clinics, tournaments, special events and other community activities.
• Coordinates athletic schedules, including games, practices, tournaments, facility use, officials, coaches and other program resources as assigned.
• Greet the public and answer questions, respond to inquiries from employees, customers and others and refer, when necessary, to appropriate staff.
