Description
The Parks and Recreation division is seeking a motivated Recreation Operations Supervisor to support daily operations with a focus on membership services and front desk operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position assists with oversight of front desk staff and plays a key role in delivering a high-quality customer experience at the Moraine Recreation Center and Moraine Civic Center.
This role supports daily operations including staff scheduling, training, and performance support, while ensuring accurate membership processing, strong customer service, and smooth front desk operations.
This position requires consistent availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This position is expected to work 25-29 hours per week.
**College students and individuals pursuing careers in recreation, public administration, or related fields are encouraged to apply. This position provides hands-on experience in customer service operations, staff leadership, financial management, membership management, and community engagement.
This position ensures a safe and effective community recreation environment by supervising the part-time Front Desk staff and Operations staff at the Recreation Center and the Civic Center which includes scheduling staff, scheduling of facilities and recruiting and training of part time and seasonal staff.
Graduation from high school or GED, with one or more years of recreation experience, customer service, recreation soft ware and cash handling experience preferred.
Must comply with all City rules and regulations (PPM). All candidates must be willing to submit to random drug screenings.
First Aid and CPR certifications preferred or must be obtained immediately after hire.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and public.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Maintain good physical condition in order to work outdoors under various weather conditions, as well as indoors. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, or sit. To use their hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and operate equipment or controls. He or she may also have to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift medium weight items, 50 pounds or less, such as equipment or other material.
Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Corrective lenses may be worn to aid in specific vision requirements.
Requires normal hearing abilities.
