Job summary

City and County of Denver's Parks and Recreation department seeks a Recreation Manager to oversee up to four recreation centers, Adventure Hubs, and Outdoor Adventure programs. You will lead a team, manage contracts, and align operations with DPR's mission, vision, and values to deliver high‑quality community services.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience requirement: Three years of functional/operational management experience.
• Equivalency: 1 year substitutable for each year of pos-high school education.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for up to four recreation centers, Adventure Hubs, and Outdoor Adventure programs.
• Direct, coach, and mentor recreation supervisors and staff; ensure customer service standards.
• Represent the department to engage with community partners, vendors, and elected officials.
• Oversee My Outdoor Colorado coalition efforts and Great Outdoors Colorado grant management.
• Oversee contract compliance, budgeting, and procurement and support capital projects.
