Job summary

China Lake Golf Course is seeking a dedicated recreation attendant to provide frontline customer service, assist with registration and equipment, and support daily facility operations. You will help manage events, safety, and scheduling, while ensuring a welcoming and orderly environment for patrons.

The role involves directing activities, guiding participants, and maintaining equipment and spaces, with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and adherence to rules.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and verify IDs; issue/receive gear; register patrons for facility use, events, and classes.
• Answer telephone and provide information on facility hours, events, and programs.
• Complete Daily Activity Reports; handle cash; verify amounts and drop cashier bag in drop safe.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and publicizing activities; maintain related supplies.
• Oversee sale of retail items related to activities.
• Evaluate fitness activities from participant feedback, resources, and objectives.
• Monitor patrons, volunteers and contractors; report issues to management.
• Assist in selecting fitness, sports, and aquatics activities offered; align with participant needs.
• Monitor participants in indoor/outdoor activities including intramural events.
• Conduct instructional classes in the recreational area.
• Perform basic fitness orientation and correct unsafe techniques.
• Demonstrate procedures and instruct on equipment use.
• Establish/review event schedules; conduct tours; set up facilities prior to events.
• Ensure adherence to regulations and safety procedures.
• Ensure facilities and fields are open/closed at posted times.
• Monitor security of premises.
• Assist patrons with equipment use and maintain order.
• Ensure playing surfaces are safe and well-maintained.
• Clean and maintain equipment/facilities; manage inventory; perform janitorial duties.
• Make minor repairs and assist with outdoor maintenance; report issues to supervisor.
