We are seeking an energetic, compassionate, and creative Recreational Director to lead and coordinate engaging activity programs for our residents in a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to enhancing residents' quality of life through meaningful recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities.
The Recreational Director plans, organizes, and oversees a comprehensive activity program that meets the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of residents while complying with state and federal regulations.
Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly activity calendars.
Plan social, recreational, educational, and special event programs for residents.
Assess resident interests and abilities to create individualized activity opportunities.
Coordinate community outings, entertainment, volunteer programs, and holiday celebrations.
Supervise activity staff and volunteers.
Maintain activity documentation and resident participation records.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to enhance resident well-being.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to resident activities.
Foster a warm, engaging, and resident-centered environment.
Experience in recreational therapy, activities programming, healthcare, gerontology, or a related field preferred. TRD preferred.
Previous experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, or healthcare setting.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to motivate residents and staff while creating engaging programs.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to resident activities preferred.
Certification as a TRD or eligibility to obtain certification is preferred.
