Job summary

New Haven Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dynamic Recreational Director to lead engaging activity programs for residents in a skilled nursing facility. You will design and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly calendars, focusing on social, educational, and therapeutic activities to enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

• Experience in recreational therapy, activities programming, healthcare, gerontology, or a related field preferred. TRD preferred.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, or healthcare setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate residents and staff while creating engaging programs.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to resident activities preferred.
• Certification as a TRD or eligibility to obtain certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be dedicated to enhancing residents' quality of life through meaningful recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities.

Position Summary

The Recreational Director plans, organizes, and oversees a comprehensive activity program that meets the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of residents while complying with state and federal regulations.
