Job summary

Sundial Beach Resort & Spa on Sanibel Island seeks a Recreation and Racquet Sports Manager to lead the Recreation and Court Sports Department. You will oversee pool, beach and court areas, organize pickleball and tennis events, manage schedules, inventory, and payroll, and partner with sales for events while ensuring guest satisfaction and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pool, beach, and court sports areas, including maintenance and daily operations.
• Organize pickleball and tennis events and teams; manage bookings and lessons.
• Monitor inventory, equipment, and facilities; manage supplies and uniforms.
• Develop and maintain activity calendar; coordinate with Sales for events and sponsorships.
• Monitor payroll for the department and ensure cost controls align with budget.

Job description

Sundial Beach Resort & Spa , located on tropical Sanibel Island, is seekinga Recreation and Racquet Sports Manager to join our team.

The Recreation & Court Sports Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of the Recreation and Court Sports Department, in accordance with resort standards. Directs, implements, and maintains a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff to ensure 100% guest satisfaction. This role is also responsible for all aspects of the pool, beach, and court sports areas, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep, cleanliness, and the day-to-day operations.

Essential Functions:

• Monitors quality, standards and meets the expectations of the guests daily.
• Creates and coordinate activities calendar for resort guests on a timely manner.
• Keep all activity areas and equipment clean and maintained.
• Maintaining a monthly inventory of all materials, bicycles, watercraft and accessories. Ensuring that all equipment is in working order daily.
• Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
• Creating and maintaining a weekly schedule
• Monitors and manages payroll for department.
• Generate profit according to monthly forecast and budget by managing both revenues and expenses.
• Adheres and works within the guidelines of the annual budget for orders and cost control.
• Assisting in the planning and execution of special events with sales department or resort clients
• Have complete knowledge of all policies, standards and procedures of the department.
• Orders and manages necessary supplies. Ensures team members have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to do their jobs.
• Manages pool, beach, and court sports areas, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep and cleanliness, and the operation of cabanas, management of towel card program.
• Organizing pickleball and tennis events and teams
• Actively sell sponsorship for all pickleball and tennis events
• Reserving court time and booking lessons and clinics for tennis pro and Pickleball pro
• Manage ordering, maintaining stock and inventory of all retail items. Ensure supplies are available according to resort occupancy levels.

Required Skills:

• Must be good with children
• Must be able to swim
• 3 years previous recreation experience
• CPR certified
• Valid drivers' license to operate a Resort golf cart
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs
