Recreation Coordinator (Sports Facilities)
Location: Saratoga, William R. Oliver Youth Complex (WRO), and Mindiola

Reports To: Recreation Supervisor – Sports
Wage: Starting at $18.00
Primary Function
The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and daily supervision of WPRF Adult Softball/Kickball Leagues held at Saratoga Complex and Buchner Parks; Youth Baseball, Softball, T‑ball Leagues at WRO; WPRF Youth Soccer and supervising outside rentals at Saratoga, WRO and Mindiola.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates assigned pre‑season activities, including assisting with game scheduling and scorekeeper scheduling.
- Responsible for inventory of supplies needed at the Complex.
- Supervises the Complex during all league games, including opening and closing the Complex, continually evaluating games and staff, promoting a safe environment and enforcing park and program rules; periodically observes Kickball games at Buchner Park.
- Follows procedures for formal protests and reports to Recreation Supervisor – Sports.
- Ensures general safety of all participants by responding to emergencies, documenting accidents, and following emergency action plans for weather‑related incidents.
- Coordinates with Recreation Supervisor – Sports and grounds maintenance staff to determine playability regarding weather and grounds conditions.
- Assists with schedules and rainout dates.
- Organizes and distributes awards at the end of the season.
- Assists with scheduling of and supervision of the Softball City Tournament (Adult Leagues only).
- Maintains the WPRF Adult softball website, including standings and weather updates; updates the WPRF Information line as needed.
- Maintains files of correspondence, forms, records, reports, and other materials in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Completes end‑of‑season report.
- Performs other tasks as requested or needed.
Work Schedules (Tentative)
- Saratoga (April – October): Half an hour before game time, hour after games conclude; times may be adjusted.
- WRO (April – July): One hour before game time, hour after games conclude; times may be adjusted.
- Mindiola (March – October): Monday–Thursday 5:15 pm – 10:00 pm; Saturday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm; Sunday 9:45 am – 7:15 pm; additional hours may be available.
Position Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Experience in and/or knowledge of youth baseball, softball, T‑ball, Adult Softball/Kickball, and Soccer programming.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to communicate, be courteous and cooperate with other staff and the public.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to operate computer software and other office equipment.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain).
