Job summary

City and County of Denver seeks a Recreation Coordinator to plan, organize, and implement facility usage, programs, registrations, activities, and events at the Denver Recreation Centers. You will oversee staff, support safety, and ensure high-quality community experiences.

Ideal candidate has five years in recreation or related field, CPR/First Aid certification, and a driver’s license; position requires flexible schedule including evenings and weekends on-site at a Denver Recreation Center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; education equivalency may substitute experience.
• Five years of experience in recreation, education or related field.
• CPR/First Aid certification within 6 months of probation.
• Driver's license required at application.
• Experience with staff development and safety policies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee center staff and front desk operations.
• Open/close the facility, process cash handling and maintain audits.
• Develop and evaluate equitable programming to increase participation.
• Coordinate seasonal programming and activities; support administrative tasks.
• Coordinate programs with partners to meet community needs.
