The City of Northglenn is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator II to lead daily operations of indoor and seasonal outdoor aquatic facilities and programs. You will supervise lifeguards, swim instructors and other staff, and ensure safety, training and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities include staff scheduling, water quality oversight, program development, and collaboration with facilities maintenance. Regular evenings/weekends and a valid Pool Operator certification are required for this role.

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor - Aquatics, the Aquatics Coordinator II is responsible for the daily operation of the City's indoor and seasonal outdoor aquatic facilities and programs. This position serves as the primary day-to-day operational leader for Aquatics and directly supervises Head Lifeguards, lifeguards, swim instructors, aquatic fitness instructors and other assigned seasonal and part-time staff.
The Aquatics Coordinator II is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient and customer-focused aquatic operations through staff leadership, water quality monitoring, facility and equipment oversight, emergency preparedness and regulatory compliance. The position coordinates staff recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, certification tracking, in-service training, performance management and ongoing staff development.
The position works collaboratively with maintenance staff and contractors to identify and resolve mechanical and facility issues.
This position assists with budget monitoring, purchasing, revenue tracking, program evaluation and the development and implementation of aquatic policies and procedures. Work requires independent judgment, sound decision-making and the ability to respond effectively to operational challenges, personnel matters and emergency situations.
Performance is evaluated through safe and effective facility operations, staff development and performance, program outcomes, customer service, regulatory compliance, and achievement of departmental goals.

5 years experience working in Aquatics, 1 year of supervisory experience. Experience working with year-round indoor aquatic facilities, seasonal outdoor pools, lifeguard operations, swim instruction, aquatic fitness programming, pool mechanical systems and/or large part-time and seasonal workforces is preferred.
Hiring Range: $60,823 $68,000
Full Range: $60,823 - $85,153
Employee works in a position that is classified as 40 hours per week. Eligible for full benefit package including medical, dental, life and LTD insurance; pension and general leave and optional benefits.
Employee works in a position that is classified as 30+ hours per week. City pays contribution toward employee only medical and dental insurance. Employee can pay the difference to cover spouse and/or children. Life & LTD insurance coverage is provided. Employee participates in the City's pension plan and the City contributes to the plan. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and optional benefits.
Employee works in a position that is classified as 20+ hours per week but less than 30 hours. City pays contribution toward employee only medical insurance. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and the City pays 3.75% toward deferred compensation and optional benefits.
