The City of San Luis is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to plan, develop, coordinate, and supervise community recreation programs across Cultural Center, Youth Center, and Recreation Center.
Responsibilities include budgeting, staff training, outreach to partners, event planning, and ensuring safety standards. Requires a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in recreation planning; Arizona Driver’s License and First Aid/CPR are required.

Under general supervision is responsible for the planning, development, coordination, supervision and evaluation of community recreation programs, in specific areas of recreation at various community recreation facilities sponsored by the City of San Luis. Analyzes community and group recreational needs, selects and/or adapts programs to meet those needs, and procures necessary resources for implementing programs. Make effective use of facilities and staff.
All required licenses and certifications must be valid at the time of appointment and maintained throughout employment.

The employee is frequently required to lift up to 10 pounds unaided. Employees must be physically capable of operating City vehicles, for job-related purposes, safely. Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements. Vision is required to perform and monitor essential functions, and to complete data entry. There is need to stand, stoop, walk, and lift heavy objects (over 100 pounds) during the course of the workday. Requires the use of a vehicle on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely.
