Job summary

The City of Artesia seeks experienced and reliable Class Instructors to lead wellness-focused programs for residents. Instructors will deliver structured classes across a variety of focus areas, including After School Programs, Dance, Youth and Adult Sports, Teen and Senior Services, and more, to promote community connection and personal growth.

Classes are offered in seasonal or annual sessions lasting 6-10 weeks, meeting 2-5 days per week for 2-3 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Successfully complete a Live Scan background check.
• Completing a Class Instructor Agreement Contract.
• Valid CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
• Valid Mandated Reporter certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, interactive classes
• Provide a structured weekly curriculum or schedule
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for participants
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
• Adapt instruction to meet participant needs and abilities
• Dependable, organized, and prepared to commit to the full session

Language classes or cultural enrichment

Interactive skill-building classes that encourage social connection

Class Structure

· Classes are offered in seasonal or annual sessions lasting 6-10 weeks

· Classes may meet 2-5 days per week for 2-3 hours per day

· Classes will not meet on City holidays

· Schedules and offerings are subject to change based on community needs
