Job summary

The City of Roanoke is seeking a Recreation Assistant – Facility Custodian to support the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the Eureka Recreation Center. This role helps maintain a welcoming environment for patrons, programs, and facility rentals.

Responsibilities include routine cleaning of spaces such as gymnasiums, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and common areas, plus assisting with setup and breakdown for events and rentals. Hours include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or demonstrated experience.
• Some custodial experience in facility maintenance preferred.
• Valid driver’s permit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean gymnasiums, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and common areas.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for programs, events, and rentals.
• Identify and report maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Follow instructions, manage time effectively, and interact professionally.
