Job summary

City of North Port, FL is seeking an energetic Recreation Assistant to support operations, programming and services at multiple parks and facilities. You will work under the Recreation Supervisor to help run events and rentals, process registrations, and assist with customer inquiries.

The role requires 1–2 years in recreation customer service, high school diploma, and valid Florida driver’s license with CPR/First Aid within the first year.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of recreational programs, activities and services.
  • Knowledge of equipment used in delivering recreational programs and events.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with coordination and instruction of programming and activities.
  • Provide front line services at parks and facilities including data entry, registrations, facility rentals and reports.
  • Perform point of sale, admissions, pass and membership transactions following cash handling protocols.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide information to patrons and the public.
  • Monitor activities and enforce park rules to ensure safety.
  • Assist with opening/closing and securing facilities per policy.
  • Support special events, marketing and outreach efforts.
