Job Description

Successful candidates should have excellent communication and customer service skills, organizational and leadership abilities, and be comfortable working at heights of 200+ feet. Consideration will be given to applicants with previous guiding experience in the climbing and mountaineering industry. Experience in the ski industry, outdoor education, recreation management, high-angle ropes courses, and/or interpretive/educational programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

1. Demonstrate strong customer service skills.
2. Assist desk staff with check-in processes, waivers, and storing belongings.
3. Greet guests and provide an introductory orientation.
4. Inspect, repair as needed, and prepare guide and guest equipment, and the Canopy Tour course daily.
5. Complete Daily Operations Check List, Report and Equipment Use Log, and Near Misses/Incidents reports when necessary.
6. Inform the Canopy Tour director of any maintenance needs on the course.
7. Guide groups of up to 8 guests on the Canopy Tour, demonstrating proficiency in guiding skills.
8. Follow all procedures outlined in the Guide Training Manual.
9. Respond to emergencies by evacuating participants if needed.
10. Create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
11. Assist in operating the Canopy Tour / Red Tail Racer Zip Line.

Tools & Equipment

Includes all computer systems, facility utility systems, telephone systems, 2-way radios, etc.

Working Environment

Subject to crowded, fast-paced environments, long periods of walking and standing, and outdoor/indoor weather conditions.
