Job summary

City of Garland is seeking a dedicated team member to assist with building maintenance and customer service for all activities, events, and services at the PRCAD facilities.

We require open availability on Saturdays. You will support the public, register participants, keep spaces clean, and help enforce city policies. A High School Diploma or GED is acceptable, and no prior experience is required. Training will be provided to perform essential duties.

Summary

Target Hiring Range: Starts at $15.94/hour depending on qualifications

Schedule: Will require open availability on Saturdays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the public as required to give information regarding programs, schedules and other related information.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• No experience required

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

• Up to 1 year experience in customer service industry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• General knowledge of various recreational activities and the ability to communicate
• General knowledge of various methods in supervising software programs
• Skill in basic first aid and CPR procedures
• Skill to operate equipment and perform physical work as required
• Skill to operate office equipment, computers, telephones, and photocopiers
• Skill in utilizing tools required for technical and custodial work
• Ability to organize recreation activities
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Ability to work without continuous supervision

  Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work. Incumbent is exposed to hazardous conditions while using cleansing chemicals. Physical tasks will include working with tools, lifting, squatting, climbing, bending, stooping, walking, and carrying supplies, as needed, to accomplish the tasks of the activity on a daily basis.
