Job description

These positions are located at Anderson Aquatics and Water Park.

Applicants will be referred to hiring manager throughout the announcement; cutoff dates will be April 4th, April 11th, April 18th, and April 24th. This announcement will remain open until the closing date or once the positions have been filled.

Duties

1. Manages all swimming lessons and instructs when scheduled, at the assigned aquatics facility.
2. Develops swim program according to students' ability and promotes students to higher level of swimming according to their skills.
3. Instructs all levels of swimming and appropriate strokes, to include front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly.
4. Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students, when appropriate to level of instruction.
5. Instructors work with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times.

Requirements

1. Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
2. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
3. A one-year probationary period may be required.
4. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
5. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
6. Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
7. In addition, the incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children.
8. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
9. Health and immunization screening is required.

Qualifications

Work experience related to the duties described above and possession of the following certificates:

• Water Safety Instructor Certification
• Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• First Aid Certification (Certificates issued by American Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, Star Guard, or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable)

Highly desirable possession of a Lifeguard Certification.
