Obsolete Site is seeking a Water Safety Instructor to lead swimming lessons at the designated aquatics facility. You will schedule and teach programs across age groups—from infants to adults—focusing on safety and survival skills as appropriate.

You will develop curricula based on student ability, promote progression to higher levels, and work closely with lifeguards to ensure the pool remains safe at all times.

Qualifications

  • Water Safety Instructor Certification required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • First Aid certification required.

Job description

Duties
  • Acts as water safety instructor. Manages all swimming lessons and instructs when scheduled, at the assigned aquatics facility.
  • Develops swim program according to students' ability and promotes students to higher level of swimming according to their skills.
  • Teach students from age groups of infant through adults. Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students, when appropriate to level of instruction.
  • Instructors work with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times.
Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing to complete a physical with immunizations.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following
  • Water Safety Instructor Certification
  • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • First Aid Certification

(Certificates issued by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable)

HIGHLY DESIREABLE: possession of a Lifeguard Certification.
