The City of Chandler is seeking energetic, team-oriented individuals to join the Recreation team as a part-time Recreation Assistant at Tumblweed Recreation Center. You will support Guest Service Desk operations, assist with activities, check-ins, and program setups, and help keep spaces clean and well-maintained.

Job Announcement

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Recreation Assistant (part-time, temporary, non-benefited) at Tumblweed Recreation Center. This position serves at the discretion of the department director. Work schedules and hours may vary based on the candidate’s availability and the operational needs of the position. Applicants must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

In this role, you will support Guest Service Desk operations, assist with activity check-ins and program setups, maintain equipment, and help ensure facility spaces—including classrooms, courtyards, and patios—are clean, organized, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can follow directions, work independently, and contribute to a positive and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

• Some High School; and
• 1 year of experience in a recreation environment; and
• First aid/CPR certification within 90 days of employment; and
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
