Job summary

HealthFitness, managed by HealthFitness, is seeking a Recreation Assistant for our on-site Bentonville, AR recreation team. This on-call role supports planning, promoting and running recreation programs to enhance member experience and community connection.

You will assist at the recreation desk, coordinate events, supervise activities, ensure safety guidelines, and help with equipment setup. A HS diploma and First Aid/ CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Professional appearance and attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize events and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with member management systems.

Responsibilities

• Promote and run recreation events including tournaments and leagues.
• Assist at the recreation desk with enrollment, reservations, and equipment checkout.
• Perform racquet restringing and minor court/equipment maintenance for events.

About The Role

Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness, managed by HealthFitness, is seeking an enthusiastic Recreation Assistant to join the recreation team at our state-of-the-art facility in Bentonville, AR.

In this role, you'll help plan, promote, and support a variety of engaging recreation programs and events that enhance the member experience and foster community connection.

This is an on-call/substitute position, providing coverage when regular staff are unavailable, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a flexible schedule while staying active in a dynamic recreation environment. Responsible for assisting with organizing recreation activities and sporting events to both children and adults, helping with various tournaments, recreation, and teambuilding events, and assisting customers at the recreation desk. Ensures students/players adhere to safety guidelines and demonstrates good sportsmanship May also provide private lessons.

Key Accountabilities

• Assist in the promotion/running of recreation events including tournaments, mixers, leagues, and play events. May teach individual/group sports lessons to children and/or adults of varying abilities while providing a fun, engaging playing environment that addresses the skill level of the students.
• Assist members/guests at the recreation desk with enrollment, purchases, reservations, and/or equipment checkout using our software management system.
• Racquet restringing, regripping, minor court/equipment maintenance, preparation/breakdown of recreation equipment for events.
• Other duties as needed/assigned

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma/GED.
• Adult and pediatric First Aid and CPR/AED certification from American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute required prior to start date.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Ability to start/complete events/activities in a timely manner.
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands, meet deadlines, and collaborate with all business units.
• Ability to work independently and as a team running events.

The compensation range for this role is $15.00 - $17.50/hour. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
