About the position:

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to Griffith Field House and Doughboy Gym, Fort Dix, NJ.

Duties

1. Performs various duties supporting the daily operation of the JB-MDL Fitness Center, including serving as a desk attendant, greeting visitors, answering phones, making reservations, and providing information on events and classes.
2. Assists the Fitness Director with administrative tasks and daily center operations.
3. Provides instruction to patrons on proper use of fitness equipment and teaches fitness/aerobic classes, holding the necessary certifications.
4. Inspects equipment and facilities according to Air Force standards, reports damages, and initiates repairs.
5. Oversees contractors working in the Fitness Center and reports findings to the Fitness Director.
6. Performs opening and closing procedures following Air Force guidelines.
7. Maintains the facilities, grounds, and equipment for daily use and special events.
8. Supervises or coordinates activities of staff or volunteers as needed.
9. Assists with advertising, recruiting, and scheduling intramural activities, tournaments, and events.
10. Supports marketing efforts, provides data, and researches items for events, including seeking sponsorship.
11. Prepares invoices and manages financial documentation for programs and operations.
12. Conducts inventory, recommends equipment purchases, and liaises with industry professionals.

Requirements

• Complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• Undergo a pre-employment physical to lift objects up to 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance.
• Possess or obtain within 30 days of hire: CPR or BLS certification and first aid certification.

Qualifications
