Job summary

Decatur Parks and Recreation seeks a manager-level leader to oversee operations of multiple recreation centers and the Aquatics division. You will develop, administer, and supervise a comprehensive center-based community recreation program and manage center staff, following department policies.

Responsibilities include budgeting, preparing revenue and expenditure forecasts, and ensuring safe, high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in the recreation field with management and government experience or equivalent.
• Certified Parks and Recreation Professional preferred; valid Georgia driver’s license; CPR and First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of multiple recreation centers and the Aquatics division.
• Develop, administer, and supervise a comprehensive center-based community recreation program and manage center staff.
• Prepare, monitor, and manage the annual budget and generate revenue/expenditure reports.
• Provide leadership, coaching, feedback, and staff development to ensure high-quality service.
• Collaborate with divisions to align programs with department goals and master plans.
• Ensure safety and compliance with department policies and procedures; respond to incidents as required.
