Job summary

The Alps at Wayne Rehab is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Recreation Aide to join our team. In this role, you'll help create engaging activities for residents and contribute to a positive, social daily experience.

You will plan and lead daily programs, encourage participation, and provide companionship. Previous experience with seniors is a plus, and a friendly, creative, and reliable approach is essential to brighten residents' days.

Qualifications

• Experience working with seniors in recreation, activities, healthcare, or customer service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading daily recreational and social activities.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities based on interests and abilities.
• Help organize games, arts and crafts, music, trivia, and other group activities.
• Provide one-on-one activities and companionship for residents.
• Assist with special events, holiday programs, and community activities.
• Prepare and organize activity supplies and spaces.
• Encourage socialization and positive interaction among residents.
• Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests and preferences.
• Assist residents with getting to and participating in scheduled activities.
• Maintain a welcoming, positive, and inclusive atmosphere.
• Work closely with the Recreation/Activities team and other departments.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with seniors, in recreation, activities, healthcare, childcare, education, hospitality, or customer service is a plus
• Friendly, outgoing, and compassionate personality
• Creative and enthusiastic approach to activities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, patient, and team-oriented
• Comfortable interacting with individuals with different abilities and needs
• Ability to encourage participation while respecting each resident's preferences and independence
