  • Ability to operate equipment necessary to perform the functions of the position such as a television, VCR, slide/film projector, stereo equipment, rhythm instruments, telephone, photocopier and unit alarm systems.

Job description

Summary

Performs responsible work facilitating recreational activities for nursing home residents, specifically those on the Special Care Unit, in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Work involves developing and implementing an activity program appropriate to the needs and interests of each resident, emphasizing the leisure focus of these activities.

The position is located at the Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Home at 70 Parsonage Road, Greenwich, CT 06830.

Examples of duties
Education and Experience

Graduation from high school and completion of one college level course in Therapeutic Recreation or closely related field, plus 1 year of work experience providing recreational or therapeutic programs to the elderly, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Examination: 100% Training & Experience Assessment

The examination to determine a candidate's eligibility for the position will be a Training and Experience Assessment. Supplemental information

All positions may be subject to an interview process.

Town reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be invited to participate in the examination, or any part thereof.
