Job summary

Complete Care at Groton Regency in Connecticut is seeking a Recreation Assistant to lead and participate in activities such as games, crafts, and exercise sessions for residents.

You will provide one-on-one activities based on individual assessments and care plans, help with activity planning and scheduling, and communicate with residents, families, and staff to support engaging programs and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Lead group activities and programs for residents.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Knowledge of elderly ill and/or disabled is helpful.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Lead and participate in activities like games, crafts, exercise sessions, and other group programs.
• Provide one-on-one activities or modifications as needed based on individual resident assessments and care plans.
• Assist with activity planning and scheduling.
• Communicate with residents, families, and staff about activities and programs.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred.
• Ability to lead group programs.
• Ability to work independently or part of a group.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
• Knowledge of elderly ill and/or disabled.
