Job summary

Village of Pinecrest is seeking a maintenance and custodial helper to keep the Community Center and athletic fields clean, safe, and well-organized. You will perform janitorial tasks, assist visitors, handle concession and cashier duties, and support program registrations using recreation software.

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to establish good customer relations. Must have an ability to deal with people effectively, courteously and enthusiastically.
• Knowledge of materials, methods and equipment typically used in recreational work and cleanup duties.
• Knowledge of basic rules of safety and ability to enforce applicable rules and regulations.
• Must have the physical strength and agility to perform assigned tasks, including bending, twisting, walking, climbing, reaching, lifting and carrying.
• Must maintain high ethical, honesty and moral standards.
• Must be fluent in English; ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
• Must be a non-smoker.
• Applicants must complete all requirements established by the Village of Pinecrest for employment, including tests and screenings.
• Minimum qualifications may be waived by the Village Manager.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance and cleanup duties such as trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping tables and chairs, replenishing toilet paper and hand towels, and cleaning restrooms.
• Performs maintenance, repair of buildings, grounds and construction tasks (pressure cleaning, graffiti removal, painting).
• Greets visitors and provides information regarding Community Center programs and events.
• Performs concession and cashier duties including sales and transactions.
• Operates recreation software for membership, class and program registration.
• Assists with coordinating activities and setup/cleanup for recreation events and party rentals.
• Enforces safety and department rules and regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
