Job summary

Complete Care at Whispering Woods in Edison, NJ is seeking a dedicated Recreation Aide/Driver to transport residents to appointments and social activities, providing companionship along the way. Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent; a BA in Recreation/Psychology/CTRS preferred but not required; a valid driver’s license and experience driving a 15-passenger bus; per diem schedule.

Safety, record-keeping, and clear communication with nursing staff are essential to support

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BA in Recreation/Psychology/CTRS preferred but not required.
• Experience in long term care and Recreation preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Experience driving a 15 passenger bus.
• Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Provide companionship and support to residents during transportation.
• Communicate effectively with nursing home staff regarding residents' schedules and needs.
• Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and any incident.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, social activities, and other destinations.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle.
• Report any vehicle maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
