Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions is seeking an entry-level Youth Program Assistant in Texas to help plan and promote activities for students, encourage community service participation, and ensure safe student transport. The role involves coordinating events, maintaining communication with partner organizations, and handling funds and receipts.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with experience working with youth, plus a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with one year of related experience working with youth required.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning and promoting all activities so students can make choices as to how to use leisure time.
  • Promotes and engages student participation in Community Service.
  • Ensures safe transport of students occurs timely.
  • Assists in ensuring events are available; ensures adequate equipment, supplies, or other resources for successful events.
  • Assists in maintaining active communication with other community and governmental sources including Fine Arts, Theater, Choral, Drama, Sports, Education and Training, Community Colleges, and volunteer organizations; contacts are reported weekly.
  • Ensures receipts/unused funds are returned to account fully for amount received.
  • Accounts for monetary expenditures by submitting all necessary student excursion sheets, appropriate receipts, and unused funds.
  • Assists in ensuring programs stay within funding limits.
  • Enforces all procedures regarding property/equipment.
  • Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
  • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
  • Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
  • Attends all required staff training opportunities.
