Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the San Diego Job Corps Center in Imperial Beach, CA. We seek energetic staff to monitor, plan, and direct students in center-sponsored activities on and off campus, using creative approaches to teach healthy and fun extracurriculars.

The role emphasizes program development, classroom-like activities, and student engagement to support career preparation and retention efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience working with youth required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and coordinate a diversified program that will attract voluntary participation.
• Conduct and coordinate recreation activities and chaperone students to recreation functions both on and off center.
• Conduct activities for career preparation students that enhance student retention.
• Assist with monitoring of the student store and conduct PE classes.
• Plan and conduct various activities to enhance student retention and meet all students' needs.

You’ll be responsible for monitoring, planning, and directing students engaged in center sponsored activities both on and off center. Put your fun and creative skills to use to teach healthy and fun extracurricular activities!

Essential Functions

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One (1) years experience working with youth required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency
• Valid commercial driver's license (Class B) with an acceptable driving record and passenger endorsement preferred.
