The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is currently seeking an experienced individual to plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Business Advisory Services (BAS) division in order to carry out specific business functions and duties required of the County Superintendent of Schools as identified in Education Code. The position is responsible for providing mandated and discretionary business services to school and community college districts and other local education agencies (LEAs) within Los Angeles County; formulating programs and policies in the areas of oversight of school district solvency; analysis and approval of district budgets and fiscal reports, certification of district fiscal data; projection of revenues; and administration of various programs.
Our current vacancy is in the Business Advisory Services division, located in Downey, CA. The division is responsible for performing mandated business functions and providing entrepreneurial business services for our clients and providing support to two joint powers authorities, a nonprofit corporation, and the County Committee on School District Organization.

Education: A Master’s degree with major coursework in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field, from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Post-Secondary Accreditation. Diploma and degree verification (including equivalency of foreign degrees) must be submitted to the Personnel Commission in the form of unofficial transcripts or a copy of your diploma. Experience: Seven years of comprehensive, directly related and progressive experience in the areas of finance, business and administration, including 3 years of management level experience directing a major financial or business operational unit.
