Responsibilities and Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a pre-employment physical.
- This position requires the incumbent to work an uncommon tour of duty.
Conditions of Employment
- Completion of background checks, including installation records checks, state, and national criminal background checks, Local Files Check (LFC), and a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- Must have approved and current certification in lifesaving, water rescue methods, basic first aid, and CPR (child and adult).
- Additional surf rescue training required for coastal lifeguards.
- Experience with swimming activities, rules, procedures, and safety equipment is desirable.
- Must meet all qualification, eligibility, and background requirements.
Qualifications
- Open to everyone. Proof of eligibility must be provided with the application by 11/21/2025.
- Experience in pool and aquatic center lifeguarding, including certification in lifesaving, water rescue, first aid, and CPR.
- For coastal lifeguards, surf rescue techniques training is also required.
- Education may not substitute experience for this position.
- Foreign education must be deemed equivalent to U.S. education.

- Position is for U.S. Citizens and eligible non-citizens with residency requirements.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must be registered for Selective Service.
- Pre-employment requirements include employment verification, and a probationary period may be required.
- Position is nonappropriated fund (NAF) for Air Force and Space Force MWR activities.
