The incumbent will perform assigned tasks in a specific bowling center area, with daily assignments dependent on staffing needs and individual strengths. Experience in POS and basic computer use is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of Morale, Welfare and Recreation department.

Responsibilities

  • Operate front counter duties for the bowling center (open and league play).
  • Assist with snack bar counter duties as needed.
  • Provide friendly customer service at the front counter and help players with check-in and reservations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic custodial tasks as required.
  • Use point of sale systems and desktop computers for transactions and record-keeping.

Job description

This position is located in The Naval Station Mayport Bowling Center. The purpose of this position is to perform duties involving the front counter, league play, open play and snack bar counter. The incumbent will primarily be assigned to a specific area of the bowling center, however, that assignment is based upon the staffing needs of the bowling center each day and the strengths of each incumbent.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • Must be able to learn MWR policies, rules and regulations, involving the Bowling program.
  • Must have ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Basic reading comprehension in order to adhere to published rules, regulations, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other guides.
  • Basic custodial tasks, e.g. sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping, dusting, etc.
  • Basic computer operations and keyboarding skills to include operation of point of sale systems as well as desktop computers.
  • Basic arithmetic calculations, i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Basic customer service delivery methods to identify customer needs, deliver expected service, and/or resolve routine customer issues.
  • Basic understanding of elements of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation department to answer customer questions and/or refer them to the appropriate activity.
