Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Metairie, LA, is hiring a Substance BHT/Driver for our Outpatient Program. You will support admissions, transport clients, and maintain safety in a recovery-focused environment.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, valid driver's license, CPR certification preferred, and a minimum one-year sobriety if in recovery. Prior treatment-industry experience is preferred. We offer a supportive team and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver's license and CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety required.
• Minimum 1-year experience in treatment industry preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of all motor vehicle laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones etc.)
• Engage and build rapport with clients, creating a warm, accepting recovery environment
• Monitor clients and enforce all Avenues policies to ensure safety of both clients and staff
• Record and elevate any critical communication/ incidents in a timely manner
• Fulfill all administrative duties (shift documentation, inventory, meetings, office support etc.)
• Monitor transportation schedule, safely transporting clients for admit, discharge and appointments as necessary
• Collect and deliver all external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary
• Engage clients on peer support level during transport, and assist with any luggage
• Ensure vehicle is well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use at all times
