Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Metairie, LA is hiring a Substance BHT/Driver for our Outpatient Program. You will support admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, and phones while engaging clients in a recovery-friendly environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, CPR certification (preferred), and at least 1 year in the treatment industry. A compassionate, patient-focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Valid Driver's license and CPR certification preferred.
• In recovery, a minimum one-year sobriety required.
• Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills expected.
• Warm, compassionate and empathetic personality.
• Dignified character that models recovery principles.
• Minimum 1-year experience in treatment industry preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of all motor vehicle laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones etc.).
• Engage and build rapport with clients, creating a warm, accepting recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce all policies to ensure safety of clients and staff.
• Record and expedite any critical communication/incidents in a timely manner.
• Fulfill all administrative duties (shift documentation, inventory, meetings, office support).
• Monitor transportation schedule, safely transporting clients for admit, discharge and appointments as necessary.
• Collect and deliver all external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary.
• Engage clients on peer support level during transport, and assist with any luggage.
• Ensure vehicle is well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use at all times.
