Job summary

EOSIS in Inver Grove Heights, MN is seeking a full-time Recovery Technician - Detox to support clients through early recovery. You will perform health screenings, interview for medical history, observe health status, and orient clients to the program while maintaining confidentiality.

This role requires 18+, a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of detox/treatment experience, and current first aid/CPR certificates. Shift is 2nd, 3:00 am to 11:30 pm, with shift differential available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and free of substance use for at least one year.
• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a technician or health services assistant in detox/treatment setting.
• Current first aid certificate.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality laws (42 CFR, part 2).
• Proficient with EHR/EMR and basic keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic health screening procedures with all clients as directed by RN.
• Interview clients to obtain basic medical history and current health complaints.
• Observe clients' health status related to detoxification and withdrawal.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene as needed.
• Orient clients to their rights per Minnesota statutes and DHS regulations.
• Assist in sanitation and disinfection of the facility.
• Follow screening and admission protocol.
• Attend mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities.
• Assist in orientation of new employees and interns, if assigned.
• Provide legible, written documentation of client notes in the EHR system.
• Other duties as assigned

• Observe the guest's health status, particularly as it relates to detoxification and withdrawal
• Assist clients with basic activities of daily living and personal hygiene, as needed
• Orient clients to their rights per Minnesota Statute 148F.165, and staff responsibilities to clients per Minnesota Statutes 144.651 and 253B.03
• Assist in sanitation and disinfection of the facility
• Follow Company’s screening and admission protocol
• Attend mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled
• Assist in orientation of new employees and interns, if assigned
• Provide legible, written documentation of client notes/progress in the EHR system and must be completed by program and DHS regulations
• Other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of State and Federal law regarding confidentiality of alcohol and drug treatment records and HIV testing/status including 42 CFR, part 2
• Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
• Technology proficiency with various software packages including EHR/EMR and keyboarding skills
• Experience with first aid for seizures, trauma, and loss of consciousness
• Knowledge of client bill of rights in Minnesota Statutes 148F.165, and staff responsibilities in Minnesota Statutes 144.651 and 253B.03
