Job summary

Family & Children’s Services in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to provide recovery-focused peer support and help clients reintegrate into the community. You will empower individuals, document services, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a CC BHC setting.

This on-site, full-time role requires lived recovery experience and a high school diploma, with certifications pursued after hire. Mileage reimbursement and a strong benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for engaging with clients, families, colleagues, and partners.
• Professionalism and confidentiality must be maintained in all client and agency matters.
• Preferred: ability to read and interpret professional and regulatory materials, and to write clear reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, peer-based support to individuals navigating recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges.
• Empower clients to develop coping strategies and natural support systems for greater independence.
• Support successful community reintegration, especially for those transitioning from incarceration, hospitalization, or other institutional settings.
• Advocate for clients’ needs and share information and resources to support informed decision-making.
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of all services provided, following agency protocols and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team while upholding professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
