Job summary

TPC Wellness in Mount Orab, Ohio is seeking a Shift Coordinator for overnights and rotating weekends to lead Recovery Support staff and ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires crisis management, documentation, and strong communication. Prior residential or behavioral health experience is preferred; must hold CDCA or obtain within 30 days and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for Recovery Support Specialists during shifts.
• Manage shift reports, incident logs, UA logs, weekly and monthly reports.
• Communicate shift tasks and expectations to staff.
• Participate in disciplinary investigations.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, transports, and orientation.
• Conduct facility, room, and locker searches as required.
• Oversee safety, security, and counts of individuals.
• Observe medication pass and document accurately.
• Track Behavioral Management System and send weekly updates.
• Provide training, coaching, and support to new staff.
• Coordinate transports and program needs with other departments.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and policy compliance.
• Maintain professional rapport with all individuals.
• Attend pre/post-shift debriefings and weekly team meetings.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Shift Coordinatorto provide leadership to our Recovery Support team, ensure safety and compliance, and contribute to the success of our residents’ recovery journey.

Position Overview

The Shift Coordinator acts as the first point of contact for Recovery Support staff, ensuring operations run smoothly and individuals are supported in a safe and professional environment. This role requires strong leadership, documentation, and organizational skills, along with a commitment to modeling positive behavior and maintaining compliance with program standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for Recovery Support Specialists during shifts.
• Manage operational documents (shift reports, incident reports, UA logs, weekly call logs, monthly reports).
• Communicate shift tasks and expectations to Recovery Support Specialists.
• Participate in disciplinary investigations involving staff or individuals.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, transports, and orientation of individuals.
• Conduct facility, room, and locker searches as required.
• Oversee safety, security, and scheduled counts of individuals.
• Observe medication pass and maintain accurate documentation.
• Track Behavioral Management System (4:1 ratio) and send weekly updates.
• Provide training, coaching, and support to new operations staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate transports and program needs.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Maintain professional and positive rapport with all individuals.
• Participate in pre/post-shift debriefings and weekly team meetings.

Qualifications

• Required: Active CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) Certification or ability to obtain one with 30 days of employment. Company will provide.
• Required: Valid Driver’s License required.
• Required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in a residential, behavioral health, or social services setting preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism and composure.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Skills & Attributes

• Experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and conflict resolution.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and residential treatment best practices.
• Certification in CPR, First Aid, or other relevant training.
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
