Job summary

TASC (Treatment Alternatives for Stronger Communities) is seeking a full-time Recovery Support Specialist to empower clients and coordinate services within youth and family programs.

The role supports recovery, behavioral health, and court-involved youth through collaboration with agencies and community partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or three years' lived or professional experience.
  • Ability to obtain CADC certification within the first two years in the field.
  • Must pass DCFS Background check.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated experience in group facilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals in achieving service plan goals through direct services and coordination of behavioral health, public agencies, and community resources.
  • Make contact with referred clients within 48 hours of notification.
  • Complete intake packets for program enrollment and participation.
  • Provide warm hand-offs of referrals to Recovery Coach Program after initial treatment referral.
  • Attend client juvenile court dates and testify on recovery status and progress.
  • Provide referrals and crisis intervention for identified needs.
  • Review records and confer with professionals to determine progress and suitability for participation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational and client information.
  • Develop effective relationships with internal and external partners.

We are currently looking for a full-time Recovery Support Specialist

Starting at $40,000 - $42,000 – contingent upon experience, education, etc.

In our Youth and Family Services, we help parents and young people who are striving to become healthy and restore their relationships. We work in partnership with human services, child welfare systems, juvenile courts, and community-based providers so that together, we can help individuals and families obtain the services and skills they need to live in positive, healthy ways.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Assist individuals in achieving service plan goals through direct services and coordination of behavior health, public agencies, and community resources.

  • Make contact within referred client within 48 hours of notification
  • Complete intake packets for program enrollment and participation
  • Complete warm hand-off of client referral to identified Recovery Coach Program after completing initial treatment referral
  • Attend client juvenile court dates and provide written and oral testimony on the client's recovery status and treatment progress
  • Provides referrals and crisis intervention for the individuals' identified needs
  • Interview individuals, review records, and confer with other professionals to review individual progress, and to determine their suitability for program participation
  • Knowledge of DSM V and ASAM criteria
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, participate in staff meetings and monthly supervisions, and participate in integrated staffing with individuals receiving TASC services.
  • Identify and refer individuals with behavioral health needs
  • Complete and submit internal and external program reports
  • Complete and maintain all required individual and program related documentation which includes, documenting the results of screenings, enrollments, service plans, reports, progress notes, discharge summaries and other individual-related activities including accurate reporting of services
  • Monitor TASC database system and contractual/external database systems to ensure Individual enrollment
  • Develops effective working relationships with the internal and external partners
  • Participate in meetings to adjust, update or revise individual service plan
  • Obtain and clinically analyze progress reports from internal and external partners to ensure individuals' progress is on target with the benchmarks outlined in their service plan
  • Ensure that confidential information relating to the organization, its staff, and individuals is kept confidential
  • Be an excellent steward of TASC, modeling the core values of the organization
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or three years' lived or professional experience.

  • Certain programs may require a higher level of education, certification and/or licensures based on contractual obligations
