Chestnut Health Systems in Granite City, IL is seeking a Recovery Specialist to engage clients before treatment, help identify personal strengths and barriers, and support long-term recovery through natural supports and sobriety-based activities.
The role emphasizes collaboration with the treatment team, trauma‑informed care, and connecting clients to recovery communities. A driver’s license and basic computer skills are required.

Must have a bachelor’s degree or a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) in good standing with the applicable state; and five years of demonstrated recovery experience and/or engaged in a recovery network, Crisis Intervention Treatment (CIT), policing, mental health, substance use or other social service experience. Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable. Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and an electronic medical record (EMR).

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $21.00 - $22.00 per hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity. Engage clients in services prior to their treatment. Help individuals to identify personal strengths and barriers to achieving treatment and recovery goals and to develop natural supports and sobriety-based activities to support long-term recovery. Consult and encourage clients on concerns and achievements presented during the recovery process. Link clients to recovery communities and ancillary services. Coordinate services with treatment team and other supports.
Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.
