This per diem position serves Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax, Wilson counties, with day shift and onsite work.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education: Identifies learning needs and attends education programs; uses patient education materials relevant to patient population; assesses readiness to learn.
• Evaluation of Care: Identifies outcomes; discusses with interdisciplinary team; communicates for continuity of care.
• Implementation: Delivers care for patients with complex needs; performs bedside point-of-care testing; follows standards and prioritizes care; consults resources as needed.
• Leadership: Sets professional growth goals; collaborates across units; supports performance improvement and cost-effective care; communicates effectively.
• Patient Assessment: Recognizes data, assesses needs, synthesizes information, considers discharge needs and family advocacy.
• Planning: Partners with patient/family to update care plans; uses multidisciplinary resources; addresses cultural issues; prioritizes tasks.
• Research: Reads journals and brings ideas to staff for applicability.
