Job summary

The Salvation Army in San Francisco is seeking a Program Assistant to support clients in a safe, structured extended recovery program. You will document daily activities, observe safety protocols, and assist with medication monitoring and administrative tasks.

The role emphasizes strong communication, boundary setting, and teamwork. A high school diploma is required, with preferred bilingual Spanish capability and CPR/First Aid certification. This is an on-site, full-time position at Hope House.

Qualifications

• Experience working with clients facing substance abuse, mental illness, or related barriers.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CA Driver's License preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification within seven days of employment – company provided.
• Tuberculosis clearance within first fourteen days of employment, company provided.

Responsibilities

• Observe all persons entering and exiting the building.
• Document incidents and daily activities during shift.
• Facilitate medication observation according to policy and procedure.
• Assist in emergency drills and actual emergencies at the extended recovery facility.
• Respond to calls for assistance from other departments of the Center to prevent interference or disruption to operations.
• Maintain appropriate, professional, and ethical boundaries with clients.
