Job summary

Anew Behavioral Health seeks a Peer Support Specialist for Substance Use Disorder to provide guidance, empathy, and recovery coaching. You will work with individuals in recovery, support development of recovery plans, and connect clients to resources.

Applicants must have lived experience with SUD, CPRS certification preferred or to be obtained within [X months], knowledge of 12-step programs, and strong communication skills; bilingualism is a plus.

Qualifications

• Lived experience in recovery from SUD or addiction is required.
• Certification as a Peer Support Specialist preferred or must be obtained within [X months] of hire.
• Knowledge of the 12-step program and other recovery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one peer support to individuals with substance use disorders, using lived experience to build trust and hope.
• Assist clients in identifying recovery goals and navigating challenges in their recovery process.
• Facilitate peer recovery groups or support meetings to encourage sharing and mutual support.
• Act as a role model for recovery, promoting healthy coping strategies and lifestyle changes.
• Help clients access resources such as housing, employment, healthcare, and social services by linking to community agencies.
